Neighborhood Revitalization Pilot Program The Neighborhood Revitalization
Pilot Program is a program that will provide a focused redevelopment program for the Riviera Heights Neighborhood (located
between Australian Ave., 6th Street, Old Dixie Hwy., and 5th Street). The purpose of this program is to provide a fully functional
community design based on resident's wants, needs, and wishes for the look of their neighborhood. This program has several
stages, with the final stage resulting in the implementation of a design program within the targeted neighborhood. - Surveys of business owners, and residents of the neighborhood were conducted. The purpose of the
surveys were to gain a primary understanding of the concerns within the neighborhood, as well as what is working.
- Neighborhood Charrette: this charrette was held on Saturday
May 16th, 2009. 57 Residents and concerned parties attended the charrette. An informal design discussion was held, followed
by resident presentations of their ideal designs for their neighborhood.
- A followup Community Feedback Meeting was held on July 20th, 2009. This meeting was a direct followup
to the charrette where preliminary findings from the surveys and the charrette were shared with those who attended the meeting.
- The final results and recommendations to the board were shared
at the regular CRA Board meeting at Nopvember 23, 2009.
- The
next step is to decide where and when to implement the recommendations.
